Education & Pedagogy
A quick overview of my experience and notable mentions.
My work is human-centred, trauma-informed, and solutions-oriented.
I am accredited with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and have a current WWCC.

Grant Award, 2019
"Innovation in Languages"
Recognised for innovative pedagogy and digital engagement strategies during Covid-19 by the MLTA NSW.
Funds went to my nominated project, which included building a multilingual library collection at Lindfield Learning Village, a DET NSW K-12 school, where I was employed as a Languages & Cultural Literacy and English Teacher from 2020 to Aug 2023.

Team Lead, 2021
"Agency in Student Learning"
Responsible for leading action research team in 2021 for the NSW New Education Model, commissioned by the Department of Education NSW to staff members at Lindfield Learning Village.
Our team specialised in conducting a literature review, outlining illustrative practice and designing future 'blue sky thinking' implementation in the area of "Agency in Student Learning".

Leading transformative languages pedagogy
Up to 28 languages in one classroom
At Lindfield Learning Village (2020 to Aug 2023), I led the Languages department in creating authentically empowered learning that allowed all students to select their language of choice.
Asynchronous self-paced learning was facilitated from a LMS (Canvas) platform with structured supports—learning goals, expectations, weekly check-ins, differentiated assessments, community language experts, and portfolio showcases.
To my knowledge, this is the first and only case study of up to 28 languages being studied in the same classroom in a secondary setting.

Creative solutions for support, 2024
English language enhancement at Charles Sturt University Sydney
To mitigate English proficiency challenges faced by international students at the Sydney campus, I designed and delivered "Lexicon Labs," a 6-week English booster program for at-risk students.
This initiative, endorsed by the Academic Director and Student Academic Services Manager, involved creating tailored diagnostic tools, marking rubrics, and learning materials to address English proficiency gaps for targeted and referred students.
Overall, the program improved students' metacognitive skills and academic integrity, reducing barriers to accessing coursework assessment tasks.

Selected Representative, 2024
"Digital Dexterity Champion"
1 out of 2 selected staff to represent Charles Sturt University in the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL)'s Digital Dexterity community of practice.
Responsibilities included leading, promoting or participating in digital and information literacy initiatives; ranging from learning and creation, to collaboration, media and data literacy, adaptability, and creative response to opportunities.

Upskilling colleagues, 2023
Professional Development for Teachers
Invited to consult and co-construct solutions for Marrickville Intensive English Centre, particularly to introduce new pedagogical practices and streamline ways of working.
Delivered a 3-hour professional development workshop for all teaching staff on pedagogical practice, writing strategies, and assessment moderation.
